BEAUTY WILL SAVE THE WORLD by Brian Zahnd

With each turn of the page in this book, I feel my whole outlook on what it means to live this Christian life is challenged. I feel a tension between the ideal and the pragmatic. The two do not seem to coincide very well, at least not with the understanding that I possess at present. I want to commit to trusting that the power and beauty of God’s love will trump that of evil’s destruction. I may have to come to peace with an understanding that this type of commitment is not entirely practical. It clashes with reality. But this begs the question: To which reality do I value more? The reality of the Kingdom of God? or the reality of this fallen world? Both realities require a hefty cost. Shall we explore them together?
